01 / Install & prepare
Get the Windows x64 installer from the website download section, along with its SHA-256 file. In PowerShell, use Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA256 on the installer and compare the digest with the checksum file.
Run the installer and follow the prompts. The app needs WebView2; setup can guide its installation. Updater signing is not Windows code signing, so security prompts may still appear. Never ignore warnings for an unknown source.
02 / Connect your own AI provider
Open Settings and add a custom channel with your provider’s Base URL, API key, protocol and model. Use Test to check connectivity. Never enter keys on this website or share them in screenshots.
Image generation requires a working image channel. Video is optional and needs a compatible video channel; choose image-only mode if you do not need it. Your provider controls fees, restrictions and data practices.
03 / Make your first work
Choose AI theme photo, capture or upload, select a photo and theme, then generate. Preview the result, export it or print it.
Alternatively, use the frame workflow to compose photos in a template. The lenticular tool can start from two local images without an AI-generated job.
04 / Save & update
Local SQLite and files manage your work. The default is the com.dreamsnap.app folder under Windows app data; inspect or change the works location in Settings. Back up regularly and export job ZIPs when transferring work.
Settings provides manual update checks and automatic-check preferences. You confirm downloading and installing; installation is blocked during active generation. Keep backups before upgrading, especially if you might roll back.
